West Calder Bridge Club was established in 1972, to further the playing of the game of Bridge in West Calder. A consequence of this is that it has always been friendly to players of lesser ability, and a significant number of its competitions are handicapped - in an attempt to to give everybody a chance of winning glory and a trophy. Details will be found on the main Competitions page.
The Club has been something of a wanderer, at least with regard to its premises. While presently using the West Kirk Hall, we have been supported in the past by the Royal British Legion, the Bowling Club and the Central Bar.
The Club is affiliated to the Scottish Bridge Union - the game’s controlling body in Scotland.

MEMBERSHIP is open to anyone with an interest in Bridge, not restricted to residents of West Calder, and of any level of ability.
The annual subscription is £ 5.00, and a table fee of £ 1.50 is charged each night you play. If West Calder is the only Club of which you are a member, then a further fee of £ 5.00 is charged in respect of SBU affiliation. This fee is only payable once per year, and if you are a member of more than one Club, you can choose which Club you pay it at.
